Austrian Airlines has developed a waste management concept for the Austrian Base at Schwechat. Based on the concept, the company has succeeded in clearly reducing its residual waste volume. We are also continuing to reduce our hazardous waste. We will be able to hold our residual waste volume on this level. In our Headoffices at Office Park 2 and the Training Center at the Austrian Technical Base at Vienna Airport we have already integrated waste management in the planning of the buildings.

Within the framework of a research project we are developing a new onboard waste management system. This system helps us to reduce onboard residual waste and the amount of waste in general.
